Do you ever feel stressed or helpless when dealing with Alzheimer patients?

Whether you are a case manager, home care professional or another type of professional that takes care of people with Alzheimer, your work is a daily challenge.

Alzheimer has different impacts on patients; some act passively, and other are restless, so applying a single strategy in caring for them is not an option.

What does the person with Alzheimer need? How should you cope with him or her? And how do you take care of yourself while supporting him/her?

For you as a professional caregiver, it requires the ability to adapt.

Alzheimer Care Trainer helps you in your daily care!

Alzheimer Care Trainer (ACT) is a personalized simulation that will support you to find the best interaction with your patients during daily care situations.

How does ACT work?

Our simulation lets you enter a virtual 3D world, where you can experience real-life interactions with the people you care for. You can personalize the simulation according to the situation you encounter in your work, allowing you to learn about dealing with various scenarios.

Benefits

•  Improved communication skills
•  Training a large range of situations
•  Acquisition of adequate caring strategy
•  Sharing experience with other professionals
•  Educational feedback on what you experience

Example scenarios:
TAKING MEDICATION

Train yourself to manage attitudes of your patients that refuse to take their pills at the right time.

GENERAL DAILY LIVING

Learn to deal with your disoriented patients who may want to leave the house and start wandering.

POSITIVE EMOTIONS

Learn successful strategies in order to divert attention and lower agitation by using positive emotions.

APATHY PREVENTION

Practice triggering emotions and actions on a patient if he displays apathy symptoms.

It’s not just a simulation, it’s a platform

ACT is integrated into an extensive platform, helping you to deal with the situations around your patients as best as possible. It consists of the following modules:

KNOWLEDGE BASE

The knowledge base contains independent knowledge, tips and tricks from patient organisations. The information will be tailored to your specific needs.

HELPFUL RESOURCES

ACT contains an overview of useful tools and products that can help you deal with Alzheimer. We guide you through selecting the right product and give an independent review, help you to buy it and show you if it can be covered by insurance.

FORUM

Other people who also experienced caring for someone with Alzheimer are often the best advisors.
ACT contains an interactive forum, where you can share experiences and chat with your peers.

PERSONAL COACHING

Within the ACT platform, you can request coaching directly from a volunteer of an Alzheimer organization or a care professional. Together with the data from the simulation, this person can help you to deal with difficult situations more effectively.
